Deputy Children's Home Manager, Wrexham

We’re looking for someone to be a Deputy Children’s Home Manager in Wrexham to assists our client’s registered manager in running a home for children and younger adults with behavioural and emotional difficulties. This is a home that provides a safe place for children that other places couldn’t help, and uses kindness, patience, and fairness to help these children get a new start in life.

The position is also commutable from Chester, Rhosllanerchrugog, and Mold.

What will you job entail?
Your job will be to help the Registered Manager implement ideas and procedures to keep the home running at it’s best so that it can be a haven for the young people that come into it’s care. You will:
· Implement staff KPIs and liaise with staff to find out what support they need;
· To be alert for signs of stress or abuse amongst the people in your care, and within your staff;
· Be a role model for the young people you’re helping;
· Help with business development and building relationships with regulatory bodies and other people involved with helping the children in your care;
· To provide guidance or just be there to listen to children in stress who need comfort and time.
· To develop quality of life plans so that the children can flourish.

This is an integral role to the success of the home, and when you do your job well you will help give the children and young adults the time and care they need to flourish, and become the amazing young people they have the potential to be.

What are the role requirements?
✓ You’ll need two years’ experience helping in a residential children’s home setting;
✓ You’ll need to have NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care Children & Young People/ Children & Young People’s workforce;
✓ A full UK driving licence;
✓ A patient, firm but fair manner to help children with emotional & behavioural difficulties
✓ A good sense of humour and a desire to make a difference.

What is the Pay and Hours?
· This is a full time role;
· You will be expected to work office hours, shift hours, and Sleep Ins;
· Pay is £25,422 – £29,492 per annum doe depending on experience and qualifications.
