Part-time, Adult Support Worker job vacancy, Manchester, Greater Manchester – driving licence essential.
The role is based close to the M34 area of Manchester, however the client you will be supporting is currently looking for a new property close to the city centre.
You would be supporting a young man in his 30s who lives in his own home who has a mild acquired brain injury (ABI). He enjoys watching football, meeting up with friends, going on holidays, camping, watching films, eating out, and participating in outdoor activities.
As a Support Worker, you will build a relationship with this young man and provide social interactions. You will encourage and motivate him, enabling him to continue doing the activities that he enjoys. You will support him in doing these social and leisure activities as well as accompanying him on holidays either abroad or in the UK.
You will be employed by the client’s Financial Deputy, but you will be working alongside us. We are an extra special case management company who provide rehabilitation and long-term support for people living with brain and spinal injuries. We have been providing support for over 20 years and our directors are innovators in the sector. Our service was built around seeing that people with brain injuries would prefer to be treated in their own homes with their families around them. We have built a fantastic reputation and pride ourselves on ensuring that we recruit specifically to suit the needs of the clients we support and making a positive difference in their lives.
- £9.00 - £12.00 per hour DOE.
- Part-time hours, 15-hours per week worked flexibly over 7-days.
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care preferred, but not essential.
- Experience working with adults with Disabilities or Brain Injuries is preferred.
- Knowledge of Brian Injuries is preferred, but not essential as full training will be provided.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, has a positive personality, good communication skills, and is willing to learn. This certainly does not feel like a job, you will be a companion and help this client live life on his terms and making sure his ABI is no barrier. You’ll have a lot of fun too.
