We have a Full Time, Permanent Job Vacancy close to Cambridge / Hertfordshire for an Adult Support Worker to work night shifts.  No Experience is required as full training can be provided – you must be a car Driver.

This job vacancy is situated directly between Cambridge City Centre and Royston, Hertfordshire.  Located 28 mins/13.5 miles outside of Cambridge City Centre (Via the A10), 8 Mins from Royston, 30 mins/19 Miles from St Neots and 28 Minutes from Hitchin (Via A1 / A505) , Hertfordshire this job vacancy is easily commutable from a wide area.   

 

Hours, Rates & Benefits

  • £8.95 – 10.00 per hour DOE
  • Waking nights only, 21:00-07:30
  • Full time or part time hours available on a 4-week rota pattern

The Service & Your Role

This “Outstanding” CQC rated service is designed specifically to meet the needs of young adults with severe learning difficulties and complex learning needs, whilst promoting their independence. The service offers a college for the young people to gain life and vocational skills in a supported environment, along with residential and supported living services promoting a wide range of activities and development opportunities.  As a Night Support Worker, you and your team will support individuals getting ready for bed and getting up in the morning, including attending to any personal care needs they have.  You will encourage healthy sleep patterns where possible, assisting with any settling throughout the night and doing housework during quiet periods.  This role is hugely rewarding, without you assisting with night-time routines the young adults will not be able to get the most out of the following days! 

 

Essential Criteria

  • UK Driving Licence & access to your own vehicle
  • Age 18 years or over*
  • Passion to help people from a variety of backgrounds
  • Exceptional communication skills and patience
  • Willing to assist with personal care
  • Availability to work waking night shifts, including some weekends

 

Starting a career in Adult Social Care as a Support Worker could be just the start, with lots of opportunities to progress to Supervisory or Managerial positions in the future who knows what you will be doing in a year or even five years’ time!
