We are looking for full and part-time Autism Advocates & Companions in the Nottingham area of Nottinghamshire. Previous experience is not required as you will be provided all the training you need to change your life and the individuals you support.
Could you support and be a friend to Sarah?
“Hello, my name is Sarah and I live in a shared house with 3 friends. I have Autism and sometimes I can get very nervous when my routine changes and I can struggle to understand some of the things that go on around me. Sometimes it can lead me to want to be on my own or sit tapping on the desk for a long time. But that’s where my friend Becky helps me. She will explain things to me in a way that I understand, help me get on with my day and keep doing the things I love. She will help me with my morning routine, choose what I want for breakfast, reminding me to take my medication and deciding what to wear that day. She will also help me decide what jobs need doing in my house. Without Becky, I also wouldn’t be able to go the cinema to watch a film, which I love to do. She explains how much money I might need and what bus we need to catch. Becky is a good friend and is there for me when I am sad or worried. She helps me live life how I want to do every day.”
