We are looking for part-time Befrienders & Companions (Like a Volunteer) in the Arnold area of Nottinghamshire. This company delivers care & support to older people in their own homes, they have vacancies in the Arnold, Beeston, Nottingham, Long Eaton, Chilwell, Stapleford, Wollaton, and surrounding areas of Nottingham. Car Drivers are essential.


No Experience is necessary as award-winning training is provided and career progression. We welcome applications from all ages (with no upper limit). It does not matter what job you have done in the past, or if you have never worked, if you can make an older person’s life brighter and feel great satisfaction from doing it, you are exactly who we are looking for.

Pay rate, hours & benefits

  • £9.50 - £10.50 per hour, double rate on bank holidays.
  • Mileage allowance plus paid travel time.
  • Pension scheme, paid holidays, and Employee Assistance Programme.

Job role

As a Befriender & Companion you would be supporting an older adult in their own home with their daily routines. This could vary from washing, dressing (Personal Care), companionship, shopping, meal preparation, attending appointments/clubs and everything in between. You would always be carefully matched to the person you will be supporting, and you will be kept as close to home as possible. They offer a very bespoke/unique approach to care, with all care personalised to the individual.

The Employer

The owner of this award-winning care company changed his career to concentrate on delivering a compassionate, caring, and individual service, to people needing help and support to remain in their own home. His aim is to focus on providing a very bespoke companionship led care service that really does benefit the local people. He also takes part in many fund-raising and charity events to help support local charities and organisations in their local community. They have won multiple awards and they have also built an excellent reputation. They do this by ensuring that every visit is no less than an hour, meaning they can really tailor the support received.
