Becoming a Care Assistant & Companion could be perfect for you! Are you looking for a rewarding role and do you want to make a difference to someone like June*? Maybe you are you retired/semi-retired and want to give something back?
There is no upper age limit for applications, we have roles available in the High Wycombe, Chesham, Amersham, The Chalfonts, Beaconsfield, Marlow, Bourne End, Gerrards Cross areas of Buckinghamshire and all the areas in between.
There may also be an element of personal care involved in this job. This could be helping your client button up their cardigan, brushing their hair or putting toothpaste on a toothbrush so they can clean their teeth. It is essential that you have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
June* is 84 years old, she has lived in on her own since her husband Albert died 10 years ago and has always been independent. Last year, June had a fall when she was visiting friends and it knocked her confidence somewhat. She stopped going out and even became scared of the stairs in her own house and would often sleep on the sofa rather than go to bed. June* is typical of someone you would become a Care Assistant & Companion for, she still wants to get out and about and would to visit places like Hughenden Manor to see the apple orchard again, but confidence stops her, that is where you come in. You would help her with daily routines that have become harder for her but also take her out and keep her independent and doing the things she has always done. This would be things like helping her with her morning, lunchtime, or evening routine, helping her to the shops maybe, or to appointments.
