£8.30 - £24.90 per hour plus paid mileage + paid travel time

Flexible full and part-time hours

Are you looking for a rewarding career? Would you like to make a difference to the life of an older person and someone like Ivy*? Have you ever considered a role in the care sector? Are you a student seeking work for the holidays, weekends and/or evenings? Why not take this opportunity to gain experience whilst making a difference?

There is no upper age limit for applications, becoming a Care Assistant & Companion could be perfect for you. We have full and part-time jobs available in the Abergele, Llandudno,  Rhyl, St Asaph, Denbigh, Conwy Llanrwst, Ruthin and Colwyn Bay areas of Conwy & Denbighshire.

It is essential that you have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. You would also need to have availability for some early mornings, evenings and alternate weekends due to the nature of the work.

Ivy* is 87 years old and a retired receptionist for a local account company and has always been independent whilst living in her own home. Last year Ivy started to struggle with little things that so many of us find simple. She would struggle to follow simple steps such as following a recipe when cooking a meal, she might repeat a lot of things she has already said, and she wouldn’t be able to concentrate on her books like she used to. Daily routines have become harder for Ivy* and so has getting out and about doing the things she enjoys. That is where you come in. You may help her with her morning, lunchtime, or evening routine, or even with elements of personal care which may include washing and dressing and prompting to take her medication. You might take her to her local singing group, music really helps her remember special memories from her past, or you might help her with her shopping or making a healthy meal. You would be helping her continue to be herself and do the things she loves and remain in her own home, a rewarding feeling like no other.

Benefits & Hours:

  • 15-37.5 hours per week, flexible and fixed contracts (unfortunately, we cannot offer just school hours or above 40 hours per week);
  • All our team have every other weekend off and we aim to provide a regular working schedule;
  • Corporate/high street discount cards & discounted gym memberships;
  • We actively promote from within and would be happy to put our employees through their QCF level 2 & 3 and City & Guilds in Dementia care & End of Life course, as we want to invest in your future;
  • The biggest benefit of all is making a difference every day.
