We are looking to recruit passionate Care Assistants & Support Workers in the Leeds area of West Yorkshire. Commutable from Churwell, Morley, Cottingley and surrounding areas on a bus route and close to lots of local amenities.

Do you believe that everyone should have the best quality of care matter what? That everyone should have the same opportunities in life and that a disability should not be a barrier? Your role as a Care Assistant is to help make that happen for someone you support. You don’t need experience just passion!

This could just be the start for you, this organisation actively promotes from within and encourages people to progress. You will be joining a unique provider, who promotes independence for adults with learning and physical disabilities, living in either a residential care home or a Supported Living environment.

Emma is an example of one of the adults that you may care for: -

My name is Emma, and I live in a shared house with 5 of my good friends. We all get along and I love the times we share, especially when we have our Saturday afternoon music sessions. I have cerebral palsy and I really do struggle to do any of my day to day care without the help of my Care Assistant. I require help to get out of bed with a special overhead hoist, have a shower, get dressed, have my breakfast and I need regular medication throughout the day. I can’t verbally communicate so it is really important that my carers do understand me and what I need. I will try and make them understand through use of my eyes or a sound I try to make. I also suffer from Epilepsy and I can have regular seizures, I need the people who care for me to monitor these and to call an ambulance if I have them too often. I love the people who care for me, they make me safe and comfortable, they talk to me life a friend and they still give me choice and as much independence as they can so I can have as much control over my life as possible which is very important to me!

What are the hours, salary and benefits?

  • Full and part-time hours are available.
  • Full-time shifts could include days, evenings, weekends and sleepovers.
  • Part-time shifts days evenings and weekends.
  • £7.70 per hour for under 25 years old.
  • £8.21 per hour for over 25 years old.
  • Sleepovers £62.64 per night.

This role may suit someone who is just looking to get into the social care sector and is looking for experience. It may also appeal to someone who is maybe studying a nursing degree and would like to gain experience.
