Care Companion, Ross-on-Wye

£8.50 - £9.63 per hour

Full and part-time hours

We are looking for compassionate Care Companions living close to the Ross-on-Wye, Leominster, Hereford and Golden Valley areas of Herefordshire.

Are you looking for a truly rewarding career? Could you make a difference to someone like *Betty? Previous experience is not required as excellent training and support is provided.

My name is *Betty and I have lived on my own since my husband John passed away a few years ago. I still live in my own home which I am so grateful for as it holds all my happiest memories and it is where John and I shared so many happy times. I have a wonderful team of carers who help me to stay living in my own home and keep doing the things I enjoy. One of my visitors is called Emily and she comes to see me a few times a week. She will help to get up in the morning, washed and dressed and make me some breakfast and a cup of tea. It’s lovely to see her smiling face in the morning and it makes a huge difference to my day.

Emily will also remind me to take my medication and may even do a little housework for me or make me something to eat. Other days Emily will take me out to do my shopping, sometimes she takes me for a walk by the River Wye, as I love walking and getting some fresh air. We get along so well; we’ve become wonderful friends. She may also come back later in the day to help me up the stairs to bed. I am so grateful for Emily and the rest of my team, they are angels. It’s lovely to know that I’m not alone as I get older and there are people looking out for me.
