We are looking for an experienced Chef/Cook in the Burton-on-Trent area of Staffordshire to join our friendly, busy team working in our Day Centre for older adults in the local community.

This is a temporary role covering Maternity leave starting from June 2020 until March 2021. If you are passionate about providing good, homely food, you want day-time hours and to work in an environment where the whole team make a difference in peoples’ lives, then this could be perfect for you.

Salary & Hours

  • £8.91 per hour.
  • 25 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9:30am-2:30pm to cover lunchtimes.

Chef/Cook - job description

Your role will be pivotal in contributing to the well-being of our visitors both physically and mentally. After all, who doesn’t love a delicious, well-cooked meal. You will plan a nutritious weekly menu within the set budget, considering nutritional and dietary needs of visitors, and you will be responsible for ordering ingredients, so they are on-site. You will prepare a 2-course meal each day for between 15-20 visitors. You will also be responsible for the cleaning down after service.

This sounds ideal, what are the requirements?

  • Experience within a Catering/Cooking background is essential.
  • A background in elderly/older person care would be advantageous although not essential.
  • Access to your own transport would also be beneficial.
