Health and Social Care Jobs have a full time, permanent job vacancy for a Deputy Children's Home Manager based near the Bridgwater/Taunton area of Somerset.

  • £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience. 
  • £36.00 per sleep over 
  • Shifts as part of a rota system, including sleep in’s as well as supernumary time.

The Provider

You will be joining a Provider that is passionate about helping children and young people, achieve their dreams and reach their full potential.  Many of their existing children’s residential homes are small to ensure a child-centred approach, and boast “Outstanding” OFSTED reports.  This organisation provides a place where every child, often for the first time, feels a sense of belonging.  This child-centred, therapeutic approach combines care, education, and therapy to meet each child and young person’s needs.

The Home & Your Role

You will be Deputy Manager of a very small Children’s Residential Home.  This Children’s Residential service is currently home to children with emotional and / or behavioural difficulties, who require support away from the family home.  You will be a positive role model, taking part in the rota system to work closely with the children and support staff, supporting in all aspects of care.  You will take a lead role in team meetings, monitor practice within the home, complete care plans and support in financial management.  Working with the registered home manager, you will ensure high standards of reporting and exceptional care is given to all children.  We are looking for an inspirational leader, who is passionate about working in this sector.

Essential Criteria

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Age 18 years or over*
  • Level 3 Health & Social Care Children & Young People (or equivalent)
  • Willing to work towards Level 5 Health & Social Care Children & Young People
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience, with exposure to management tasks
