Children’s Support Worker, Cambridge
We are looking for a Children’s Support Worker to join an outstanding service close to the Cambridge area of Cambridgeshire. This job is commutable from Stevenage (27mins), Cambridge (32 mins) and Royston (11 mins) areas of Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

What does the role involve?
A Support Worker is both helper and friend to the children you will support. In the morning you will help them get dressed, encourage them to get washed, and assist with their breakfast. After school or on weekend shifts you’d encourage them to participate in activities and hobbies like going to the park, playing games and swimming. You will also help them find what they are passionate about, so they can grow up into the person they want to be.
Please note this role will also include supporting children with life limiting illnesses or very complex needs and will include a large amount of nursing/physical care.
- £8.41 - £8.70 per hour without qualifications;
- £9.06 - £9.39 per hour with NVQ Level 3 Children and Young Peoples’ workforce;
- Full time hours, 39 hours per week;
- Day or Night shifts available.
- Days – 7:30am – 9pm, some shifts 6 hours, some 12 and a half, 4-week rota of 14 shifts;
- Nights - 8.45pm-8:15am, 4-week rota
- Additional £2,790 per annum on top of salary for doing nights;

What experience is required?
It is extremely desirable that you have experience working with children/young adults with learning/physical disabilities. You will ideally hold an NVQ level 3 as mentioned above. It is essential that you have a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle due to the location of this service.
