Children’s Support Worker, Southampton

We are looking for positive and enthusiastic individuals to join a Children’s Residential Home with an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating to become a Support Worker in the Southampton area of Hampshire. You will be providing fantastic care and support to children with Learning disabilities, Autism and Challenging Behaviours. We are also looking for someone to work night shifts.

  • £8.75-£9.00 per hour depending on experience;
  • £9.30 per hour if you have Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce;
  • Plus £70.47 per sleep-in;
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week;
  • Must be available for split shifts;
  • Night Support Worker, minimum of 19 hours per week, Fridays and Saturdays.

This is a truly special organisation to be a part of and they look to make every day extraordinary for the children they care and support, because they believe in every single one of them. You would be working in a small 5 bedded home. It’s not often that they look to recruit, they have a very low staff turnover and a long-established staff team, which enables them to look for people with or without experience. There is plenty of training and support available to help you flourish.

Responsibilities

As their Support Worker, you will help them get dressed, encourage them to get washed, and make sure they have a good breakfast. After school or on weekend shifts, you’d encourage them to participate in activities and hobbies, teach them life skills and help them find what they are passionate about, so they can grow up into the person they want to be. You will make a real difference to the life of every child by creating positive experiences every day and helping them make progressive steps.

If you’re looking for a job that is not only rewarding but also offers a great career, why not give the position of a Support Worker some thought. Helping a child achieve their goals is a wonderful feeling.
