Could you help Charles*?

Charles is 85 years old and has started to struggle with little things that so many of us find simple. He might struggle to follow simple steps such as following a recipe when cooking a meal or do certain chores, he might also get muddled with peoples’ names. However, he does love to sing, and music seems to always cheer him up and remind him of special memories. He can get lonely from time to time though as his children live so far away and he needs a bit more help round the house. Could you be the person to make a difference to Charles?

The Company

You would be joining a very bespoke provider of relationship led care and support to older people living in their own homes. An award-winning provider rated “Outstanding” by the CQC, where they have one vision – to change the face of ageing and make a huge impact on people’s lives. The owner started the service following a poor experience with care for his Father and wanted to provide a service that provides the highest standard of care for the individuals, but also provide peace of mind for their families. It is a place where you can be proud to work and the team love to meet at the moment for socially distanced walks to keep spirits and morale high.

Job role

As a Dementia Friend & Companion, will do a minimum of 1-hour visits and you will be carefully matched to clients in your local area, supporting them to remain independent both in their own home and in the community. The role can involve:

  • Assisting with morning & evening routines.
  • Assisting with personal care where required.
  • Prompting to take any medications.
  • Taking them out shopping or for some exercise.
  • Preparing meals and light household duties.
