We are looking for part-time Dementia Friends & Companions to support older adults living in their own homes in the Swansea area of South Wales. You do not need professional experience in care as full training is provided. A driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

Why work in care?
The answer, quite simply, is that helping people is a rewarding feeling like no other. You would be making a massive difference in your local community and at a time like this, you’re needed more than ever. If you have recently been made redundant, or you are just looking for a new role, if you are a positive personality with the ability to help someone, then this is for you. There are long-term prospects too, with opportunities to progress and build a rewarding career. This provider has also been awarded a 5* employer award, so it’s a place where you could be proud and happy to work.
You could be joining a service who focus on a companionship/relationship led care service. They have won multiple awards over the years and have built an excellent reputation within communities across the UK. This exceptional service is different to any other care organisation in the area, providing a minimum of 1-hour home visits to a predominantly private client base, but the focus being on companionship. The owner started the service based on the poor level of support his 98-year old Grandfather experienced. He wanted a service that was high-quality, tailored to the individual and made a real difference in the community.
As a Dementia Friend & Companion, you will do a minimum of 1-hour visits and will be carefully matched to clients in your local area, supporting them to remain independent both in their own home and in the community. The role can involve:
- Assisting with morning & evening routines.
- Assisting with personal care where required.
- Prompting to take any medications.
- Taking them out shopping or for some exercise.
- Preparing meals and light household duties.
- Being a true companion and someone, they can trust.
Pay rates, hours & benefits
- £8.72-£9.00 per hour + mileage allowance + paid travel time.
- Double time on ban holidays.
- Between 4-30 hours per week.
- The hours available are a mixture of morning, lunchtime, afternoons, evenings, and alternate weekends.
- Holiday pay & pension scheme.
- Discount scheme.
- Refer a friend scheme.
