We are looking for part-time Dementia Friends & Companions in the West Leicestershire area. No experience is necessary as excellent socially distanced training is provided. It is essential that you are a car driver and have access to a vehicle.

  • £10.00 - £10.50 per hour plus 22p – 45p per mile mileage allowance.
  • You must have some availability early mornings, lunchtimes, afternoons, evenings, and a couple of hours on a weekend.

Whether you have personal or professional experience in care, or you just want to work in a more rewarding sector, as long as you are a positive personality with the ability to help someone, then this is for you.

Job Description

You will do a minimum of 1 hour visits and you will be carefully matched to older adults in your local area and you will support them to remain independent both in their own home and by keeping them active in the local community. This would include:

  • Helping someone get out of bed, washed/showered, dressed and other elements of personal care.
  • Prepare breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
  • Remind them to take their medication.
  • Help with light housework, laundry, vacuuming, ironing, or a spot of gardening
  • Help with grocery shopping.
  • Be a listening ear and to treat them with the respect and dignity everyone deserves.
