We are looking for full-time or part time Dementia Friends & Companions in the Ross-on-Wye area of Herefordshire. No experience is needed as excellent training will be provided. However, it is essential that you hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

This fantastic company provide support within people’s own homes, they have job vacancies in the Ross-on-Wye, Leominster, Hereford, Golden Valley, and surrounding areas. They will always place you as close to home as possible to keep any travelling to a minimum.
What does the role involve?
As a Dementia Friend & Companion, you will build a relationship with the people you support and help them to stay independent for as long as possible in their own home. A typical day could involve preparing a meal, getting them out of bed, assisting with personal care, helping them keep their home tidy, getting them a bit of shopping so they don’t have to go out and being a good companion. You may sit chat with a cup of tea or bake some scones, listen to music, or reminisce with them while looking through their memories in photo albums.
You would be joining an award-winning homecare provider supporting older people living in their own homes. The whole team are proud of their Good CQC rating, and their ethos is very much about the people they support and giving back to the community. The provider does this by holding regular vintage afternoon teas, coffee mornings and summer fairs. They use the donations from these events to support local charities. They strive to always provide the highest quality support, the kind of support you would want for your own loved ones.
Pay rates & hours
- £9.75 - £10.75 per hour (double time on Bank Holidays).
- Mileage Allowance.
- DBS refunded at end of probation period.
- Guaranteed hours available, shift payments, salary, or zero hours if preferred.
- Flexible hours to choose what suits you best.
- Hours to suit your family commitments but you must have some availability every other weekend for a few hours.
