Home Care Assistant, Backford Cross

£10.00 per hour (Double rate on Bank Holidays) + 20p-50p mileage allowance

Part-time hours available

Are you looking for a rewarding career? Would you like to make a difference to the life of an older person, someone like Georgina*? Have you ever considered a job in the care sector? Are you a student seeking work for the holidays, weekends and/or evenings? Why not take this opportunity to gain experience whilst making a difference?

There is no upper age limit for applications, becoming a Home Care Assistant could be perfect for you. We have part-time jobs available in the Backford Cross, Chester, Blacon, Capenhurst, Saughall, Shotwick, Mollington, Two Mills, Dunkirk, Sealand and surrounding areas of Cheshire. Experience is not essential as full training is provided. However, it is essential that you have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

*Georgina is not a real person; she is just an example of one or more of the older people you will visit.

Can you imagine the difference you would make to someone like *Georgina? She could be 79 years old who has always been independent whilst living in her own home. Georgina may struggle with little things that so many of us find simple. She might struggle to follow simple steps such as following a recipe when cooking a meal, she might repeat a lot of things she has already said.

Daily routines will become harder for Georgina* and sometimes she might forget to take her medication. That is where you would come in. You will help her with her morning, lunchtime, or evening routines, which will include washing, dressing, toileting and all aspects of personal care including prompting to take medication. You might help her to make a healthy meal or help with housework. You will be helping her continue to be herself and do the things she loves and remain in her own home, a rewarding feeling like no other.
