We are looking for enthusiastic Learning Disabilities Advocate in the Telford area of Shropshire. No experience is required as excellent training is provided, what is important is having a caring and empathetic nature and being passionate about making a difference in a person’s life.
You could be joining an established provider of Supported Living services who support adults living with Autism, Learning/Physical Disabilities and Mental Health conditions to live independently in their own communities and lead fulfilled lives. There is a welcoming and family feel to the team, and you could be part of it.
Could you support an adult like *Joe?
“Hello, my name is Joe and I live in my own home. I have Autism so some things are difficult for me, but I have a Support Worker called Paul who helps me understand things and do all the things I enjoy. Paul will help me in the morning, he always knows how I like my cup of tea, and he’ll help me choose what I want for breakfast. He will then also help me decide what jobs need doing in my flat. Without him I would forget to take my medication. I also wouldn’t be able to go to the cinema to watch films, which I love to do. Paul helps me know how much money I need to take with me so I can watch the film and get some popcorn. Crowds can make me nervous so Paul will walk with me to the cinema, talks to me and explains things in a clearer way, so I can understand and feel safe. Paul is a good friend and really helps me every day.”
