We are looking for enthusiastic Learning Disabilities Advocates close to the Worksop area of Nottinghamshire. This role will be based in Clowne, Derbyshire, and is approximately a 20-minute commute via the A619. No experience is required as excellent training is provided.
You could be joining an established provider of Supported Living services who support adults living with Autism, Learning/Physical Disabilities and Mental Health conditions to live independently in their own communities and lead fulfilled lives. There is a welcoming and family feel to the team, and you could be part of it. All you need is a caring and empathetic nature and being passionate about making a difference in a person’s life.
Could you support an adult like *Matthew?
“Hello, my name is Matthew and I live in my own home. I have Autism so some things are difficult for me, but I have a Support Worker called Adam who helps me understand things and do all the things I enjoy. Adam will help me in the morning, he always knows how I like my cup of tea, and he’ll help me choose what I want for breakfast. He will then also help me decide what jobs need doing in my flat. Without him I would forget to take my medication. I also wouldn’t be able to go swimming, which I love to do. Adam helps me know how much money I need to take with me so I can swim and get a drink afterwards. Crowds can make me nervous so Adam will go with me to the pool, talks to me and explains things in a clearer way, so I can understand and feel safe. Adam is a good friend and really helps me every day.”
