Doreen is 83 years old; she has lived in on her own since her husband died 5 years ago and has always been independent. Last year, Doreen had a fall whilst out shopping and it knocked her confidence somewhat. She stopped going out and even became scared of the stairs in her own house and would often sleep on the sofa rather than go to bed. She also wouldn’t leave her house, not even into the garden in case she had another fall. Doreen is typical of someone you would support. You would help her with daily routines that have become harder for her but also help to keep her independent and doing the things she has always done. This would be things like helping her with her morning, lunchtime, or evening routine and some elements of personal care. Getting her a bit of shopping, keeping her home tidy, helping to prepare meals and reminding her to take her medication. She also loves to get out in the garden and in the warmer months loves nothing more than a slice of cake, a brew and a natter in her lovely garden. It’s her pride and joy. For Doreen, as for you, it’s the continuity of seeing the same person which really makes the difference.

Are you looking for a role where you can make a difference to someone in your local community, to someone like Doreen*? This could be the most rewarding role you ever take on especially with the current situation in the country. You could be a local star and help the most vulnerable in the community, knowing you have helped someone is a feeling like no other.

Come and join the best!

You would be working for a very bespoke provider of companionship led care and support to older people living in their own homes. An award-winning provider not only in the UK but in lots of other countries where they all follow the same vision – to change the face of aging and making a huge impact on people’s lives. On a day to day basis you would be matched to older adults in your local community who are looking for a little bit of extra help to stay happy and healthy in their own homes, assisting them with maintaining their routine. The owner is a lovely lady who was inspired to start the service following a cancer diagnosis that changed her life. The people she met in the care sector were amazing and inspired her to dedicate herself to helping others.
