Paid Volunteer, Befriender & Companion, Rugby

£8.50 - £10.00 per hour plus paid mileage

Flexible full and part-time hours

Are you looking for a rewarding career? Would you like to make a difference to the life of an older person and someone like Jill*? Maybe you have considered Volunteer jobs? We have a range of hours available in the Rugby and Lutterworth areas of Warwickshire and Leicestershire.

No experience is required, and it is preferred that you have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. There may also be elements of personal care involved in this role.

My name is *Jill and I have lived on my own for several years since my husband Peter passed away. My daughter and grandchildren live in South Africa, so sometimes I can get very lonely and I can’t always do the things that used to be so simple. I have a wonderful small team of carers. One is called Natalie and she comes to see me 5 times a week. She will help to get up in a morning, washed and dressed and make me some breakfast and a cup of tea. It’s lovely to see a friendly face first thing in the morning to start the day off well.

Some days Natalie will come back to see me at lunch time, reminds me to take my medication and make me a healthy meal. Whilst I am eating my lunch, she is very kind and does a little housework. Other days Natalie will take me out to my appointments, some days she takes me out for a walk and to get a spot of fresh air and also to see my friends for a cuppa and a catch-up. She may also come back later in the day to help me up the stairs to bed. I am so grateful for Natalie and the rest of my team, they are like family and I don’t know what I’d do without them, I always look forward to seeing them and they really brighten up my day.”

Benefits & Hours:

  • Flexible hours available between 10-30 hours per week - if you have some availability early mornings, lunchtimes, afternoons, evenings or a couple of hours on alternate weekends, then this position could be ideal for you.
  • Benefits scheme including retail vouchers;
  • Employee Assistance Programme;
  • Excellent training and support are provided including further qualifications so you can further your talents;
  • The biggest benefit of all is making a difference every day, putting a smile on an older person’s face and being part of a wonderful team.

Come and join the best!

You could be joining an award-winning national brand who focus on a companionship led care service. They have won multiple awards over the years and have built an excellent reputation within communities across the UK. This exceptional service is different to any other care organisation in the area, providing a minimum of 1-hour home visits to a purely private client base, but the focus being on companionship. Imagine having Dementia but still being able to go to your dancing class on a Saturday, still being able to do your weekly shop or still going into town to get your hair done! You would be helping make these things happen every day!

If you have a big heart and you are excited by this opportunity, then we would love to hear from you. Within their organisation if you shine opportunities are created. They have ambitious plans for the future you could be part of that!

** PLEASE NOTE this is not a Volunteer job, it is paid employment, however we are trying to attract those that would look for Volunteer type jobs.

*Jill is just a typical example of someone you would support.
