Paid Volunteer, Befriender & Companion, Ashtead

£9.50 per hour (increasing to £10.50 after probation)

Guaranteed, full and part-time hours available

We are looking for caring individuals who want a rewarding role where they can help someone in their local community by becoming a Paid Volunteer, Befriender & Companion. Are you a bubbly, positive person who could make a difference to the life of an older person? If so, we would love to hear from you.

We have flexible, guaranteed hours available in the Ashtead, Epsom, Sutton and Banstead areas of Surrey. No experience is required as excellent training is provided. It is essential that you have a driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Be part of something special and join a fantastic homecare branch.

You could be joining a national, award-winning organisation with an outstanding brand and reputation in the care industry! This provider puts their client at the forefront of everything they do and help people to remain in the place they love the most, their home. Not only do they promote a minimum of 1-hour support, they make sure their carers are perfectly matched to their clients, so you can build a lasting relationship!

There is a fun, friendly and supportive culture in the company. Their whole team mean the world to them and they have regular fun social evenings (ask them about the owner singing with an ABBA tribute band), they also remember birthdays and reward their staff for all their dedication. They also actively promote from within, both Managers started as Care Assistants, so who knows where this opportunity may take you.

Sounds exciting, right? So, what will the role involve?

You would be carefully matched to older adults in your local area and you will support them to remain independent both in their own home and by keeping them active in the local community. All of their clients’ needs vary, from companionship to assisting with personal care, helping with domestic duties & preparing meals, to help with medication or taking them out. If you are caring in nature, want to make a difference and want to start a career in care, then this is the perfect role for you.

Benefits & Hours

  • Enhanced weekend rate and bank holiday rate of £19.00 per hour;
  • 30p mileage allowance;
  • Hours to suit your commitments;
  • Opportunities to achieve NVQ/QCF qualifications;
  • Social evenings;
  • Bonuses for long service and vouchers for those going the extra mile;
  • Four weeks paid holiday per annum.

This is a truly rewarding role where you go home with the satisfaction of knowing you have made someone’s day and made a difference. Sometimes it is the littlest acts of kindness that make the biggest difference!

If you are excited about this Paid Volunteer, Befriender & Companion job opportunity, then we would love to hear from you and of course we can always answer any questions you may have, so please click “apply.”

** PLEASE NOTE this is not a Volunteer job, it is paid employment, however we are trying to attract those that would look for Volunteer type jobs.
