Paid Volunteer, Befriender & Companion, Stevenage
£9.50 - £20.00 per hour plus mileage allowance
Part-time hours, up to 16 hours including mornings, early evenings & alternate weekends
Are you looking for Part-Time hours and want to make a difference to someone like Ian*? Maybe you have considered Volunteer jobs? There is no upper age limit for applications, becoming a Paid Volunteer, Befriender & Companion could be perfect for you.
We have part time roles available in Stevenage, Royston, Baldock, Hitchin, Letchworth, Knebworth and surrounding villages of North Hertfordshire. No experience is required as excellent training is provided. However, it is essential that you have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Ian* is 75 years old, he has lived on his own since his wife died 15 years ago and has always been independent. Last year, Ian had a fall whilst out shopping and it knocked his confidence somewhat. He stopped going out and even became scared of the stairs in his own house and would often sleep on the sofa rather than go to bed. Ian* is typical of someone you would help, he still wants to get out and about, but confidence stops him, that is where you come in. You would help him with daily routines that have become harder for him but also take him out and keep him independent and doing the things he has always done. This would be things like helping him with his morning, lunchtime, or evening routine, or assisting with personal care where required, reminding him to take medication. Going shopping with him or taking him on an outing every week?
Come and join the best!
You could be joining an award-winning national brand who focus on a companionship led care service. They have won multiple awards over the years and have built an excellent reputation within communities across the UK. This exceptional service is different to any other care organisation in the area, providing a minimum of 1-hour home visits to a purely private client base, but the focus being on companionship.
