We are looking for someone special to becaome a Befriender & Companion, who lives in the Faringdon area of Wiltshire to help vulnerable older adults in the local community, you could be a local hero. Even the smallest of things can make the biggest of differences in an older person’s life at this time, so if you have a few hours a week spare to help, then we would love to hear from you.
Your kindness and willingness to help at a time of crisis could make you a local superhero, after all, not all heroes wear capes. Making a positive difference to an older person’s life in your community is a rewarding feeling like no other and it’s that spirit that will help the whole of the UK get through this.
What would you be doing?
By becoming a Befriender & Companion you will be helping an older person in your local community not only combat loneliness, but also keep them safe. Everyone’s needs differ, some of their clients are more independent than others, you will be carefully matched to an older adult in your local area needing companionship and support. This could vary from helping them to get up, get dressed, have breakfast to preparing a meal or getting some shopping for them. To be suitable for this role, are you:
- Caring, compassionate and patient?
- Do you have a great personality and would make a fantastic companion?
- Willing to help someone with personal care needs when required?
- A car driver with access to your own car?
- Looking for a full or part-time role where you can make a difference?
- Available for either early mornings, lunchtimes, evenings or a few hours at weekends?

This exceptional service is different to any other care organisation in the area, providing a minimum of 1-hour home visits to a purely private client base, but the focus being on companionship. His passion is to deliver an improved quality of life and increased independence in an older person’s own homes, peace of mind for their families, a happy, engaged and fulfilled team.
