  • £33’200 per annum, (based on 30 hours per week.
  • Part-Time Hours available between 14-30 Hours

Location

Based within a School Rated Good with Ofsted, the School is located 21 Minutes / 8.5 miles from Horsham via the A264 or Worthing which is 31 Minutes / 16.4 miles via the A24.  The village lies in the Horsham district of West Sussex along the A29 which crosses with the A272, it is 6 miles south-west of Horsham and 5.5 miles northeast of Pulborough.

You would be joining a unique provider, who set their standards very high indeed.  Specialising in providing personalised Care & Education to children and adults with a range of physical, learning, neurological, sensory, complex health needs, and cerebral palsy.  The heart of everything they do is to ensure lives are lived as independently as possible with all the help and support needed for an individual’s wellbeing.

The School itself offers boarding for up to 58 pupils and students age 4-18 years of age.  The children have a range of motor impairments such as cerebral palsy.    This is a good school with outstanding facilities that are at the forefront of conductive education. 

Your Role

You will be an extremely enthusiastic Qualified Teacher for the Visually impaired and be passionate about making the learner the centre of everything you do.  You will ensure that the children they support have the technology and aids required to support their development, working in partnership with the classroom teams.  You will deliver planned, comprehensive, coordinated support and direct teaching, promoting inclusion and ensuring access to learning, as well as writing reports and creating visual /hearing passports.

  •  Recent experience of working with children who are visually impaired.
  • Knowledge and understanding of appropriate assessment tools for children with disabilities.
  • You will have strong and personal values
  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of educational legislation
  • Understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and Ofsted inspection frameworks.
