Rehabilitation Support Worker, Romford  

£13.00 - £15.00 per hour DOE

Flexible full-time hours including weekends + sleepovers

We are looking for a dedicated Rehabilitation Support Worker close to the Romford area of Havering, East London. You would be supporting a young gentleman in his 20s living in his own home. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in a person’s life and help aid his rehabilitation and develop his independence.

We are looking for an enthusiastic character who has a good sense of humour and can bring a positive personality to the role. You will encourage independent living and help the young man live life to the full.  He has a good personality and enjoys motorcycle scrambling, socialising with his family and friends, and going to the gym.

You will be sensitive to his needs as he has difficulties planning, organising, insight/self-awareness or self-monitoring his actions. He can also have difficulties in busy communities and can have emotional outbursts. You will help maintain a safe environment, complete paperwork and help him achieve planned goals. This is a truly rewarding role where you can make a positive impact in person’s life which is a feeling like no other. You will build a positive rapport with the young man and his family, helping him broaden and develop his life skills.  

What qualifications & experience are required to be a Rehabilitation Support Worker?

  • Experience and knowledge of brain injury is essential, however personality and sensitivity to the client’s needs are equally important;
  • A full, clean driving licence and successful enhanced DBS disclosure required;
  • Knowledge of high-level executive functioning difficulties is also beneficial.

You will need to be an empathetic, highly motivated individual that is willing to learn. You will need to possess good organisational skills but above all you will require a strong desire to make a difference to a person’s life.
