We are looking for experienced ambitious Residential Children’s Support Workers for two locations in the Birmingham Area of the West Midlands. These positions are commutable from Birmingham Centre (8 Mins), Saltley (11 Mins), Yardley (8 Mins), Erdington (8 Mins) with excellent transport links close to the M6, A452 or the A45.
The Organisation you would be working for:
This is a private Children’s Home Provider whose owners are an inspiration to the Children’s Social Care Sector, they have no plans to grow as they want to do what they do well, with previous career’s in Social Work/ Therapeutic care backgrounds, meaning everything they do is about the Children they support.
Their six homes are all Ofsted Registered and provide therapeutic care and support to vulnerable children and young people with emotional/behavioural difficulties. They do provide a very settled, safe and homely environment and are well managed with very few incidents. They are careful when introducing a new child to the home, ensuring that it is the right fit for everyone involved. Their homes are very small 1, 2 or 3 Bed meaning the children get the attention they need and deserve.
Staff turnover is extremely low, mainly due to the positive culture, ethos and values – vacancies only arise due to internal candidates that have progressed to more senior roles.
About the Children, you will be Supporting
The Children & Young People they support are vulnerable, with emotional/ behavioural difficulties from across the country. Children that come into their services may have a range of emotional behavioural difficulties, Learning Disabilities, Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, ADHD, ODD, Depression or Mental Health problems.
What experience do I need to be a Residential Support Worker?
- Do would need to be over the age of 21 years
- A manual driving licence (But don’t need your own vehicle)
- Level 3 Children & Young People – Desirable
- Experience of working with Children ideally in a Social Care Setting (Not Nursery)
Support Worker Salary & Hours of Work
£21,000 per annum, included in this salary is £69.00 for the 10 Sleep in’s you would do per month
- 10 am Till 10 am the following day including Sleepover
- Includes 10 Shifts per month on a rota basis
- Overtime can be available.
- Rota’s are always planned well in advance to allow you to plan your own time
- Full flexibility of the days you work would be needed as some of your shifts would fall on weekends.
