Residential Support Worker, Brighton

We are looking for enthusiastic Residential Support Workers living close to the Brighton area of East Sussex. This is an exciting opportunity to join a Residential service for young adults founded on wonderful values where young people with learning disabilities, mental health conditions and challenging behaviours receive the very best in education, care and support to achieve all their goals in life.

£17,113.44 per annum + 30 days holiday + support towards further qualifications

Full-time hours, 40 hours per week, mixture of early and late shifts, 7am – 2:30pm and 2:30pm – 10pm as an example including weekends and bank holidays

Make a difference

The organisation was setup on the vision that we can do more to protect and help the most vulnerable in our society. Their aim is to promote the inclusion of all the young people they support ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to become as independent as possible and not letting any barrier prevent them from living life to the full. They offer in-house medical, occupational and nursing therapies for all to access.

Responsibilities

As their Support Worker, you will be working in the residential home for young adults aged 19-25. You will assist them with their morning routine and helping them get to college. (There may be minimal personal care involved). After college or on weekend shifts you’d encourage them to participate in activities and hobbies and help them find what they are passionate about, so they can learn precious life skills and independence.

What experience & skills are required?

  • It is preferred that you have experience working/living with children/young adults or have personal experience of working with people with learning disabilities;
  • You will ideally hold an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care. However, full training is provided so not essential;
  • Ideally, you will also be a car driver.

This is not only a career but is so rewarding and something where you can make a difference every day. If you have a passion to work with young adults and you believe every person deserves to be encouraged to be the best they can be, then we would love to hear from you.
