Health and Social Care Jobs have a full time, permanent job vacancy for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support a young female with Acquired Brain Injury near the Barnard Castle / Darlington area of County Durham.   

  • Competitive salary dependent on experience
  • Term Time, Mon-Fri 37.5 hours per week
  • 16 hours support within college, 21.5 hours support as flexible working
  • Additional 15 hours per week during school holidays
 

Your Role

You will be supporting a young female who is looking forward to starting college in September.  She has an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) which by no means stops her enjoying life and striving to reach her full potential!  You will assist with rehabilitation and social development across the education, home and community settings, increasing levels of independence and achievement of goals.  As a fun and confident role model, you will help this young person enjoy learning, whilst growing as an individual and overcoming any challenges she faces during this exciting new chapter of her life.

You will contribute to the planning, preparation and evaluation of learning activities, to take place inside and outside of the college setting.  Working closely with the team of professionals surrounding this young person, you will follow a bespoke rehabilitation programme and take part in fun activities as well as encouraging curriculum tasks.

Essential Criteria

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant
  • Experience supporting individuals with brain injuries or autism
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Dynamic, forward thinking and positive approach to teaching.
  • Experience of Health and Social Care Course (preferable)
  • Age 21 years or over*
