Health and Social Care Jobs have a full time, permanent job vacancy for a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker / Practitioner based near the Birmingham area of West Midlands. This residential children’s home is easily commutable from Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Kidderminster and surrounding areas.
- £10 per hour (approx. £25,000 per annum including sleeps)
- 24-hour shifts (10am start + sleep-in)
- Approx. 3 shifts per week as part of a rota.
This provider is an independent organisation, who provide therapeutic support to children with complex needs who may display emotional and behavioural difficulties, mild learning difficulties or have suffered childhood trauma and abuse. They provide individualised care to children and young people of both sexes, aged 8 – 18 years old. This is a specialist provider of children’s residential homes, who aim to build an outstanding reputation for high quality child centred care, which you could be part of!
The Home & Your Role
As a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will join a well-established team whose aim is to promote the development of children and young people into happy young adults with the world at their feet! The residence is 4 bed, located in a lovely semi-rural area of Wolverhampton and currently home to very settled teenagers. You will assist the management team in ensuring that the staff meet the identified needs of the young people, inducting new staff and mentoring your own team of support workers. You will play a key role in communication and record keeping throughout the home, ensuring all necessary information is forwarded to management promptly, and all paperwork is completed to a high standard.
- Level 3 Health & Social Care Children & Young People (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting children & young people in a residential setting
- Drive & motivation to really make a difference to young people’s lives
- Willingness to work shifts as part of a rota
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Aged 21 years or over*
