Full-time, Senior Support Worker job vacancy, Stockport, Greater Manchester – driving licence essential.
You will be employed by the client’s Financial Deputy, but you will be working alongside us. We are an extra special case management company who provide rehabilitation and long-term support for people living with brain and spinal injuries. We have been providing support for over 20 years and our directors are innovators in the sector. Our service was built around seeing that people with brain injuries would prefer to be treated in their own homes with their families around them. We have built a fantastic reputation and pride ourselves on ensuring that we recruit specifically to suit the needs of the clients we support and making a positive difference in their lives.
You would be supporting a young man in his 20s who lives in his own home who has a mild acquired brain injury (ABI). This young man is very active and likes to be on the go. He enjoys both playing and watching football, playing guitar, and playing computer games. He is very sociable and enjoys meeting up and going out with family, friends, and his support team.
As a Senior Support Worker, your role will be split between providing support and supervising the team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team and you will ensure the care and support provided is according to the care plan and is to the agreed standards. You will also be key in promoting an independent lifestyle for the client, encouraging, and motivating him to continue doing the activities that he enjoys. You will support and accompany him in doing the social and leisure activities. There will be opportunities to undergo training so to develop your skills too.
- £14.00 per hour (Senior Hours).
- £11.50 - £12.25 per hour (Support Hours).
- Full-time hours, 35-hours per week including sleep-in hours.
- Two sleep-in nights per week, paid at NMW.
- 32 hours per week support hours, 3 hours per week senior duties.
- Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care essential.
- Experience working with adults with Disabilities or Brain Injuries is preferred.
- Knowledge of Brian Injuries is preferred, but not essential as full training will be provided.
We are looking for someone who has a positive personality, good communication skills and leadership skills, and is willing to learn. This certainly does not feel like a job, you will be a companion and help this client live life on his terms and making sure his ABI is no barrier. You’ll have a lot of fun too.
