Support Worker (Young Adults), Hitchin

We are looking for a Support Worker (Young Adults) close to the Hitchin area of Hertfordshire. This job is commutable from the Hitchin (28mins), Stevenage (27mins), Cambridge (32 mins) and Royston (11 mins) areas of Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

What does a Support Worker do?

A Support Worker is both helper and companion to the young adults they support. In the morning you will help them get dressed, encourage them to get washed, and make sure they eat their breakfast. After school or on weekend shifts, you’d encourage them to participate in activities and hobbies and help them find what they are passionate about, so they can grow up into the person they want to be.

  • £8.41 - £8.70 per hour without qualifications;
  • £9.06 - £9.39 per hour with NVQ Level 3 – Health & Social Care;
  • Full time hours, 39 hours per week; 
  • Day or Night shifts available;
  • Days – 7:30am – 9pm, some shifts 6 hours, some 12 and a half, 4-week rota of 14 shifts;
  • Nights - 8.45pm-8:15am, 4-week rota;
  • Additional £2,790 per annum on top of salary for doing nights;

What experience do I need to be a young adult Support Worker?

It is extremely desirable that you have experience working with young adults with learning/physical disabilities. You will ideally hold an NVQ level 3 as mentioned above. It is essential that you have a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
