Could you support an adult like *Peter?
“Hello, my name is Peter and I live in my own home. I have Autism so some things are difficult for me, but I have a Support Worker called Steve who helps me understand things and do all the things I enjoy. Steve will help me in the morning, he always knows how I like my cup of tea, and he’ll help me choose what I want for breakfast. He will then also help me decide what jobs need doing in my flat. Without him I would forget to take my medication. I also wouldn’t be able to go to the New York Stadium to watch Rotherham United, which I love to do. Steve helps me know how much money I need to take with me so I can get a programme and a cup of tea. Crowds can make me nervous so Steve will walk with me to the cinema, talks to me and explains things in a clearer way, so I can understand and feel safe at the match. Steve is a good friend and really helps me every day.”
