We are looking for enthusiastic Support Workers in the Newark-on-Trent area of Nottinghamshire. No experience is required as excellent training will be provided, this role is much more about your personality and life skills.
You could be joining an established provider of Supported Living services who support adults living with Learning/Physical Disabilities and Mental Health conditions to live independently in their own communities and lead fulfilled lives.
Is this the job for you?
“My name is Carol and I started working for this company just over a year ago, and it is the best thing I have ever done. When I started, I had no experience in the care sector, but I was unfulfilled from my 9-5 office job and I wanted to do something more rewarding. This Support Worker role was perfect for me. I got the best training, shadowed another member of staff and I always feel supported by Senior staff and the rest of the team.”
“I support a lady called Melanie who lives in her own flat and she has a wonderful personality. I will help her first thing in the morning with her routine, giving her the choices for breakfast, deciding what clothes she wants to wear that day and letting her decide what music we listen to whilst we tidy up and do household chores. This sounds simple to some of us, but these decisions are big for Melanie. She also loves a day out to Newark Castle and a walk around the grounds, but crowds can scare her, and she gets anxious. I help Melanie get ready to go, decide what she needs to take with her, reassure her and explain things to her in a way she will understand. She has the best time and it makes my day seeing her smile and laugh and knowing I have played a big part in her daily life.”
