Registered Care Home Manager

£40K Per Annum

Job Description

Due to retirement, we are looking for a Registered Home Manger for an Older People’s Residential Home in the Luton, Bedfordshire / Hemel Hempstead area of Hertfordshire.

This job is close to Hemel however it is commutable from Dunstable & Luton in Bedfordshire (18-25 Mins / 7-11 Miles) via the B4541 or B4540 and the home sits 15 mins / 7.1 miles from Hemel Centre. 

Key Information

  • £40K per annum, plus mileage.
  • Working hours 8am – 16:00 with some flexibility.
  • On call alternate weekends.
  • 35 Days Holiday per year (including bank holidays).

We are recruiting for a family run business passed down from previous generations, established for over 29 years.  The business started out as one Care Home and they now have five homes within the group.  With a real homely feel to their Residential Home’s, keeping the home’s small means they are big enough to provide the best care.   The residents vary in age with their oldest being 104 years old!    They specialize in providing Dementia Care, through to end of life care in a truly stunning building dating back to the 16th Century. 

About You

We are looking for a Registered Home Manager who is hands on, someone who has fantastic knowledge of Dementia and can bring fresh ideas and vigor to the home.  You will inherit a fantastic staff team, as they have always had a very low staff turnover, many being employed for over 20 years.

You will have full autonomy to run the home, but you are never on your own if you need support.  You will have experience in:

  • Care Planning & carrying out assessments.
  • Quality & Compliance.
  • Implementing New policies and Procedures.
  • Constantly looking to move the home forward and advancing approaches to care.
  • Bring fresh and innovative ideas to the home under your leadership.
  • Leading, developing and supervising a staff team.

    Your Role

    Each of our clients are individuals and we tailor our support to their needs. A key part of your role will be helping older adults stay independent at home. You could be simply making someone a nice cuppa and being a good companion because you’re the only person they have seen that day.     What experience will you need?

    Experience is not essential to be a Community Care Assistant as excellent full training (including shadowing shifts with experienced staff) will be given. Having a positive personality and caring nature.

    Holding a full driving licence and having access to a vehicle is desirable.

    £10.00 - £12.00 per hour DOE

    Full-time, Chef/Cook permanent job vacancy, close to Walthamstow, Greater London.

    This role is set within a lovely, Dementia Care Home for older adults. The role is a short 8-minute walk from Walthamstow Central (Victoria underground line) and 8-minutes from Wood Street overground stations. There are also nearby bus services that stop close to the home (service numbers 212, 55, 69 & 97). There is also on-site parking for car drivers.

    Key Information & Criteria

    • £10.00 - £12.00 per hour.
    • Monday – Friday, 7am – 2pm (35-hours per week).
    • Level 2 Food Hygiene – essential.
    • Ideally experienced in creating pureed diet.
    • Excellent technical cooking skills & experience creating varied, balanced menus.

    The Role

    As their Chef/Cook, you will play a vital role in providing the nutritional needs that are so important to the residents’ well-being at his 22-bedded Residential Home. There are no other kitchen staff team, so it is imperative that you work well on your own. Good food makes everyone feel better, so the role of the kitchen is vital in keeping residents well-nourished and happy. The role will also involve:

    • Preparing meals using fresh ingredients to the highest standards.
    • Ensuring resident nutritional needs are met adhering to dietary requirements.
    • Developing varied, balanced, and wholesome menus.
    • Ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen & storage areas.
    • Adhering to the food hygiene & COSHH regulations.
    • Ensuring stock levels are optimised.
