We are recruiting for a full-time, Assistant/Sous Chef close to the Bristol area of Avon. This role is working term-time only.
This job is set within a lovely Special Educational Needs (SEN) school for children aged 7 – 19 living with SEN needs and disabilities. The role is located about a 25-minute commute from the centre of Bristol via the M32.
Key Information & Criteria
- £21,655 - £23,165 per annum DOE.
- Full-time, 40-hours per week (term-time only).
- Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 18:00.
- Experience working in a catering environment (school, residential or healthcare setting).
- Working knowledge of COSHH regulations and food hygiene procedures.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene – desired.
The Provider
We are recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s biggest providers of education, care and support for children and young people living with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and disabilities. They have an impressive network of Supported Living services, residential homes, schools, and colleges, where all their talented teamwork with specialists to enable every young person to develop their abilities and create a positive future.
Your Role
As their Assistant/Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in providing the nutritional needs for the pupils. Good food makes everyone feel better, so the role of the kitchen is vital in keeping the young people well-nourished and happy. The role will also involve:
- Organise and assist in the preparation and presentation of all meals service.
- Ensuring pupil nutritional needs are met adhering to dietary requirements.
- Assistant the Head Chef in planning varied, balanced, and wholesome menus.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen & storage areas.
- Ensuring stock levels are optimised.
- Deputise in the Head Chef’s absence.
