Job Description

Full & Part-Time, Home Care Worker Job Vacancy, Newton, Cheshire - No previous experience is required as training is provided and fully paid - It is essential that you have a driving licence and access to a vehicle.

This fantastic homecare provider provides care visits in the community to older adults living in their own homes, they have job vacancies in the city of Chester, Newton, Hoole, Upton, Great Barrow, Great Boughton and Neston. If you live within commutable distance, we would love to welcome you to our team.

Pay rates, hours & benefits

Job description

As a Home Care Worker, you will be visiting older adults in their own home. Helping them with everyday task so they can continue to live in the environment which they love most and for as long as possible, duties will include:

  • Helping them with daily routines such as getting up in the morning or ready for bed at night.
  • Helping with elements of personal care.
  • Ensuring their home is safe & clean.
  • Preparing meals & collecting shopping or prescriptions.
  • Providing companionship and being someone who they can rely on for support.

    Who will I support?

    You will be carefully matched and introduced to the person you will be supporting, and you will share a great relationship together.  Your visits will never be rushed, and they are never less than an hour, meaning you spend quality time with the person we match you with. 

    Because you get to know one another well, the care that you would provide is never awkward, just natural.  Some people worry about personal care, but people also have the wrong idea what personal care means – if this is something you are unsure about, we can explain this to you once you apply.  

    As a Dementia Friend & Care Companion, the Care & Support an individual requires varies greatly, after all everyone is unique!  All our clients vary from being very independent to some that need much more care and support.  You could -

    • Arrive with a smile for an early morning call.
    • Prepare breakfast and assist someone with their morning routine whilst chatting away!
    • Assisting with morning or evening routine, including toilet prompts, helping with washing, undressing, or brushing teeth.
    • Prompt to take medication.
    • Preparing lunch together, taking care of their nutrition is important.
    • Maybe prompting them to use the toilet, to keep their routine.
    • Going on outings, hospital visits or visiting the shops.
    • End of the day companionship, hot drink, and chat before bedtime.

    Key Information

    • £9.50 per hour, plus paid travel time & paid mileage
    • £19.00 per hour on Bank holidays

    • Flexible, Part-Time Hours available between 7am – 11pm (16-30 Hours per week)

    • Alternative Weekend working: however, this can only be a couple of hours.
