Job description

Part-time, job vacancy for a Rehabilitation Support Worker in the Warrington area of Cheshire to support a 12-year-old boy living with a disabilities and complex needs in his family home.

  • £10.50 per hour.
  • 29-hours per week, worked over 7 days, including days, evenings, sleep-ins & weekends.
  • Rolling rota - rota given 4-weeks in advance.
  • 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year (pro-rata).
  • Experience in working with children with disabilities/complex needs is desired, but having a positive, can-do attitude is much more important.

Your client

This young boy is a happy, relaxed individual who is curious about the world and loves meeting new people. He adores his family, his many pets, and going for walks in the outdoors. He has a wicked sense of humour and loves slapstick comedy; his 2 Grandads make him laugh all the time. He has such a broad range of interests like most 12-year-olds, from watching Anime cartoons, cars, motorbikes, listening to music, and having stories read to him. The family also have a new pool at home which he loves to use and have a nice pamper day. This really is a lovely role for someone; it doesn’t feel like work working with such a lovely young boy.

Your Role

As his Rehabilitation Support Worker, you will be joining a team supporting this young boy to live the best quality life possible and continue to do the things he loves. A big part of the role will include running a programme of therapy alongside his team of rehabilitation therapists. There will be some elements of personal care and helping with daily routine, but this role provides a great opportunity to gain experience in therapeutic care and support.

What is key about this job is that you have a patient and caring nature, a positive personality, you can form good relationships, and you will be passionate about the difference you can make in a person’s life. If that’s you, then we would love to hear from you.
