Job description

We have a unique job vacancy for a Deputy Children’s Home Manager for the Widnes area of Cheshire.  This job vacancy is commutable from parts of Runcorn, Warrington, St Helens or Liverpool.  

Key Information

  • £11.50 - £13.25 per hour per hour/£28.5K - £33K per annum
  • Car Driver Essential
  • 2 Bed Children’s Residential Home
  • Level 3 in Children & Young People Essential (Or Equivalent)
  • Shift pattern is 2 on 4 off, followed by a 48 Hour Shift 10:00-22:00
  • Previous experience of working within Children’s Residential Setting is essential.

The Home

This is a very settled home that has been established for over six years.  This is home to one girl and one boy with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) aged 13 & 14 years old.  As their Deputy Children’s Home Manager, you will assist the Registered Manager in the overseeing of the running of the home.  You will motivate and lead the staff team providing supervision & excellent leadership whilst on shift.  Together with the Registered Manager you will ensure that the home is constantly looking to improve in any area and provide the very best support to the children.

The Provider

This provider is owned and Directed by a Children’s Nurse who has created caring, friendly and stable homes for the children they support. Established 7 years ago this provider initially focussed their services for young people with mental health problems and challenging behaviour.  They have grown steadily and always kept their homes small with some home’s singular occupied.  They focus on providing resilient, creative and a holistic approach to keep the young person at the centre of what they do.  As an organisation they focus on raising self-esteem and confidence and ensuring every individual has self-worth and belief in themselves.  This comes from employing wonderful teams who support and encourage our young people and offer a positive role model to them.

The owner of the business has a very personable and friendly approach, she would love to continue growing the business whilst maintaining their all-important values of being caring and supportive for both her staff teams and the children they support.  When the owner started her career in nursing she did so because she saw it as a vocation, an opportunity to change people’s lives, for the better.
