Job description

We have a unique, permanent job vacancy for a Registered Children’s Home Manager for a newly opening service in the Chester area of Cheshire.

  • £40K - £45K per annum plus bonus.
  • £3K - £4K per annum for on-call.
  • Car Driver essential
  • 2 Bed Children’s Residential Home
  • Level 3 in Children & Young People and/or working towards Level 5.
  • Experience of at least 1 OFSTED inspection.
  • A minimum of two years’ Residential Management experience.

The Homes

The newly opening children’s residential homes will be 2 Bedroom home for children aged 7-17 years of age. As their Registered Manager they would like you very much to be part of the commissioning of the home, recruiting a staff team and looking at the décor, making it as homely as possible for the children. With the support of the senior management team your duties will include:

  • Registering the service with Ofsted.
  • Commissioning the service
  • Implementing Policies and procedures
  • Recruitment of your team
  • Networking to gain referrals
  • The Day to management of the service
  • Creating a fantastic place to live and work.
  • Handling any referrals

The Provider

This provider is owned and Directed by a Children’s Nurse who has created caring, friendly and stable homes for the children they support. Established 7 years ago this provider initially focussed their services for young people with mental health problems and challenging behaviour. They have grown steadily and always kept their homes small with some home’s singular occupied. They focus on providing resilient, creative and a holistic approach to keep the young person at the centre of what they do. As an organisation they focus on raising self-esteem and confidence and ensuring every individual has self-worth and belief in themselves. This comes from employing wonderful teams who support and encourage our young people and offer a positive role model to them.

The owner of the business has a very personable and friendly approach, she would love to continue growing the business whilst maintaining their all-important values of being caring and supportive for both her staff teams and the children they support. When the owner started her career in nursing she did so because she saw it as a vocation, an opportunity to change people’s lives, for the better.
