Job Description

We are recruiting for a Care Assistant to join a residential care home providing dementia care to older adults.

Location: Ulverston, Cumbria.

This job vacancy is based close to Grange-over-Sands, so it is about a 25-minute commute from Ulverston.

Salary: £10.30 - £10.55 per hour.

Job Type: Full-time, permanent, 35 per week over 5 days (day shifts).

We are recruiting on behalf of a family-run care home with over 20-years’ experience providing residential and dementia care. There is a warm and homely feeling at the home and the standard of care to residents is always to the highest standard emphasised by their Good rating with CQC.

  1. a Care Assistant, you will ensure the welfare of residents and help to provide the highest level of care and support. You will help prepare breakfast in the morning, assist residents to eat, provide personal care, doing domestic duties, and help residents participate in activities.

Benefits

  • Increment of £0.10 per hour for NVQ Level 2.
  • Increment of £0.15 per hour for NVQ 3 Level 3.
  • Bonus of £2 per hour for exceeding contracted hours.
  • 20 pence per mile commuting fuel allowance for journeys over 15 miles.
  • Starting bonus of £250 (if staying after 13 probation period).
  • Funding towards driving lessons up to £500.
  • Funding towards college.

Personal Support Assistant

Full-time permanent position

The client is an autistic and learning-disabled man who lives in his own home supported 3:1 through the day and 1:1 through sleeping nights.

Activities outside his home represent the core of his daily routine. In his home you will assist the client in personal care, prepare drinks, snacks and meals, assist in housekeeping and administer medicines. Outside his home you will support the client in his chosen activities.

We implement a low stimulation environment with least restrictive interventions and support the objectives of the NHS England STOMP project to halt the over use of psychotropic medicines.

Whilst no formal qualifications are required a calm personality and a willingness to learn are essential.
You will be provided with the necessary training for your role and encouraged to complete the NVQ in Health and Social Care.

A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.

The rate of pay is currently £10.50 per hour for 35 hours per week, paid monthly. An increase is pending. Sleeping nights are paid at £60.00 per night. On-call support is paid at £15.00 per night.

There will be 5.6 working weeks paid holiday.

Appointments are subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check.
