Night Care Assistant

£11.00 - £11.25 per hour + £250 starting bonus
 

Job Description

We are recruiting for a Night Care Assistant to join a residential care home providing dementia care to older adults.

Location: Kendal, Cumbria

This job vacancy is based close to Grange-over-Sands, so it is about a 25-minute commute from Kendal.

Salary: £11.00 - £11.25 per hour

Job Type: Full-time, permanent, 30-44-hours per week.

We are recruiting on behalf of a family-run care home with over 20-years’ experience providing residential and dementia care. There is a warm and homely feeling at the home and the standard of care to residents is always to the highest standard emphasised by their Good rating with CQC.

As a Night Care Assistant, you will ensure the welfare of residents during the night/evening. You will check residents on a regular basis, provide personal care, ensure the building is locked and secured, washing and cleaning, and prepare breakfast in the morning.

Benefits

  • Increment of £0.10 per hour for NVQ Level 2.
  • Increment of £0.15 per hour for NVQ 3 Level 3.
  • Bonus of £2 per hour for exceeding contracted hours.
  • 20 pence per mile commuting fuel allowance for journeys over 15 miles.
  • Starting bonus of £250 (if staying after probation period).
  • Funding towards driving lessons up to £500.
  • Funding towards college.

You will motivate the young people to take an active part in decision making and to be involved in the design and delivery of the care they receive.  You will play a major part in shaping a child’s future and helping them achieve their goals and full potential.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience working within a Residential Children’s Home
  • Level 3 Health and Social Care Children & Young People (or equivalent)
  • The flexibility to work shifts including weekends, evening, and sleep-ins.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Willingness to take part in outdoor activities.
  • Age 21 years or over*
