Job description

Full-time, Children’s Residential Support Worker/Practitioner job vacancy, close to Derby, Derbyshire.

This job vacancy is based close to Derby via the A38 and is also commutable from Chesterfield, Mansfield, Nottingham & Sheffield which are all within 26 minutes, with Sheffield being a 45-minute commute. 

Key Information

  • £20K - £22K per annum DOE plus £73 per sleep-in.
  • Full-time, 40-hours per week.
  • 2 rotating 3-week shift patterns:
  • One is: Monday, Thursday, Saturday, Tuesday, Friday, Sunday, Wednesday.
  • The other: Monday, Friday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday.
  • Currently 10-sleeps per month but will reduce to 6 once fully staffed.
  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children’s & Young People Workforce preferred.
  • A passion for working with children in a residential setting – essential.
  • Car Drivers – essential

After spending 20 years working with Children with behavioural problems, within a Residential Setting, the owners witnessed first-hand the impact of childhood adversity and poor-quality care.  This has made them determined to improve care through providing outstanding staff training, education, and support. Their future plans are to open 4 new homes within the next five years and lead the way in providing outstanding outcomes for Children who have suffered Trauma or some form of abuse. You could be a part of setting the highest standards from day one and moulding a team.

The Home

This is a newly opening home and will accommodate 3 Children Aged 7-18 years of age with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Everyone Residential Support Worker/Practitioner within the team will be a role model to our children and carry our values and adopt our ethos. We offer a very therapeutic approach, where each member of the team is supported thoroughly and provided the very best training.

As a Children’s Residential Support Worker/Practitioner, you will be working closely with the children to encourage a positive daily routine, keep them safe and be there for them to learn about becoming more independent and doing the things they love. The role can be extremely rewarding and we are happy to talk you through it in more detail and answer any questions you may have.
