Job description

We are recruiting for a Deputy Children’s Home Manager close to the Derby area of Derbyshire. This a permanent job vacancy and you will be joining a newly opened Children’s home/residential service in the area.

This job vacancy is a 15-minute commute from the centre of Derby via the A601 and Burton Road. The role may also suit candidates in Burton-upon-Trent as it is a 15-minute commute via the A38, or Swadlincote which is 27-minutes away.

Key Information

  • £26,670 - £32,000 per annum DOE.
  • Full-time, 40-hours per week including sleeps.
  • £50 per sleep.
  • Experience working with children with Learning Disabilities, Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), Mental Health conditions – essential.
  • Minimum of 2-years’ experience in a Senior/Management role in Residential setting – essential.
  • Level 3 Children’s & Young Persons’ Workforce – essential.
  • Car Drivers preferred but not essential.

Your Role

As the Deputy Children’s Home Manager, you will be part of a new, small 4-bedded home supporting children aged 11-17 with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You will help create a safe and loving environment for the children to flourish. You will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure that the home exceeds standards, and the highest standard of care is provided to the children. You will provide direct support to the young people as well as mentoring, coaching, and supporting the team in their roles. You will be a positive role model to both your team and the children, cascading the provider’s values in all that you do.
