Job Description

We are recruiting for a full-time, Housekeeper close to the Wimborne area of Dorset. It is essential that you are a car driver due to the location of the role.

This job vacancy is based approximately a 20-minute commute from Wimborne via the B3078.

The Provider

We are recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s biggest providers of education, care and support for children and young people living with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and disabilities. They have an impressive network of schools, colleges, and residential homes where all their talented teamwork with specialists to enable every young person to develop their abilities and create a positive future.

Your Role

As their Housekeeper, you would be part of our friendly and enthusiastic team and would be working at a specialist education college for young people aged 16-25 set in a beautiful location. You will be key in ensuring that the college is cleaned to the highest standard. Your role will include:

  • Vacuum cleaning and mopping floors.
  • Wiping furniture down and polishing.
  • Emptying and cleaning bins.
  • Replenishing janitorial supplies in toilets.
  • Reporting any defects/hazards.
  • Checking/closing windows after work and ensuring building is secure.    

Key Information & Criteria

  • £20,072 - £20,615 per annum DOE.
  • Full-time hours, 40-hours per week, Monday – Friday.
  • Experience in a cleaner/housekeeper role – essential.
  • You must have high standards for cleanliness.
  • Good attention to detail & able to work as part of a team and on your own.
  • Good time management skills - essential.
  • Good communication skills & bubbly personality.

Care Support Worker

Carer Support Worker (6 Month FTC)

This is a temporary/fixed-term contract, 35hrs per week

Your role

Title: Carer Support Worker

Contract length: 6 months

Contract type: Field-based with element of home working - we work throughout the Dorset Council area and access to a car is therefore essential as you will need to travel on occasions for meetings and to support carers

Hours: 35hrs per week between Monday to Friday, 9-5 (flexibility required to cover occasional weekends as needed to meet the needs of groups and individuals accessing the service)

Salary: Between £18,090.60 to £19,860.93pa pro rata

We have an exciting opportunity for a Carer Support Worker to join our inspiring and friendly team at our Dorset Carers Service.

The Rethink Mental Illness Dorset Carers Service provides support to carers, relatives and supporters of people with mental illnesses. The service provides 1 to 1 personalised support for carers in crisis by using a solution and goal-centred approach focussing on recovery, group support and assists carers in the development of peer support groups. The service provides information on carers’ rights, facts sheets relating to mental health diagnoses, treatments available and information on local services and resources. The service also delivers the Caring and Coping training to support the role of the carer and improve wellbeing.

How will you make a difference?

As a Carer Support Worker, you will provide person-centred carer support to adult and young carers including one-to-one individual support and liaison with other mental health agencies on behalf of people who use our services.

You will have the individual’s needs at the fore, working to the recovery model and using communication, motivation and coaching skills to support the service user to achieve their goals and aspirations. You will develop a rapport with service users based on respect and honesty whilst working within clear professional boundaries.

You will report to the Service Manager to provide support to carers of adults and young carers of people with mental health issues.

You will be required to work flexibly as part of a team supporting carers and raising carer awareness.

- Either experience of providing support to people with a mental illness or transferrable skills
