Job Description

We are looking for full or part-time Support Workers close to the Goole area of the East Riding to support a gentleman living in his own home with an Acquired Brain Injury.

If you have a passion for helping people and you want to make a difference in a person’s life, then this could be the perfect role for you.

  • £14.00 per hour weekdays, £15.00 per hour weekends.
  • Full or Part-time hours available.

As this gentleman’s Support Worker, you will play a key role in implementing therapy exercises and maximising his rehabilitation. You will assist him with personal care, washing, dressing, assisting him episodes of challenging behaviour, driving him to physio appointments and to social activities that he enjoys. He has a keen interest in sport and enjoys going fishing and to the local shopping centre. You will work closely with the Case Manager to understand the client’s challenging behaviours and the best practice to manage these behaviours.

Criteria

  • It is desirable that you hold NVQ level 2 or 3 Health & Social Care or any other relevant professional qualification.
  • Experience and knowledge of Brain Injuries is also desirable.
  • It is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Above all, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will have a good sense of humour, a patient nature and you will be passionate about the difference you can make in a person’s life.

Support Worker

We are recruiting for a Support Worker to support a young adult living with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).

Location: Darlington, County Durham.

This job is based about a 25-minute commute from Darlington.

Salary: £14.00 - £24.00 per hour + £70 per sleep.

Job Type: Permanent, full-time hours (will include sleeps but no night-time care).  

We are recruiting on behalf of 2 young adults aged between 18-20 living with Acquired Brain Injuries. They live in a beautiful large house with a garden, therapy rooms, and their dog. This is a great opportunity for anyone who has experience in this sector but also a passion in seeing young people achieve their goals no matter what the barriers.

As a Support Worker, you will be a positive role model for these young adults. You will support them with their rehabilitation, daily living tasks, accessing the community, forming positive relationships, their individual hobbies, and helping them to achieve their goals. There is no challenging behaviour or personal care involved in the role.

Criteria

  • Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care – essential.
  • Experience working with older children or young adults with Brain Injuries, Autism, or Disabilities – essential.
  • Brain injuries knowledge essential
  • Car Driver – essential.
