Job Description

We are looking for full or part-time Rehabilitation Support Workers close to the Goole area of the East Riding to support a gentleman living in his own home with an Acquired Brain Injury.

If you have a passion for helping people and you want to make a difference in a person’s life, then this could be the perfect role for you.

  • £14.00 per hour weekdays, £15.00 per hour weekends.
  • Full or Part-time hours available.

As this gentleman’s Rehabilitation Support Worker, you will play a key role in implementing therapy exercises and maximising his rehabilitation. You will assist him with personal care, washing, dressing, assisting him episodes of challenging behaviour, driving him to physio appointments and to social activities that he enjoys. He has a keen interest in sport and enjoys going fishing and to the local shopping centre. You will work closely with the Case Manager to understand the client’s challenging behaviours and the best practice to manage these behaviours.

Criteria

  • It is desirable that you hold NVQ level 2 or 3 Health & Social Care or any other relevant professional qualification.
  • Experience and knowledge of Brain Injuries is also desirable.
  • It is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Above all, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will have a good sense of humour, a patient nature and you will be passionate about the difference you can make in a person’s life.

He is passionate about music, seeing new places on holiday, being outdoors, and he is a keen film fan, enjoying films both at the cinema and in his own cinema room at home. He’s also a bit of a daredevil and enjoys outdoor pursuit activities such as zipwire, skiing and climbing walls.

    Your Role

    As his Support Worker you will be joining a team supporting this gentleman to live the best quality life possible and continue to do the things he loves. You will be key in helping him in completing his rehabilitation plan and continue doing activities at home and in the community. You will also be key in assisting with Therapy programmes created by professionals who also work with the client. You will support the client on holidays both in the UK and abroad and helping him with daily life skills.
