This Children’s Residential Home is located close to the Ramsey area of Essex.  The Home is easily commutable from Colchester (25 Mins), Clacton on Sea (25 Mins), Harwich (10 Mins) or Ipswich (35 Mins) away.

Key Information

You would be joining a unique provider, who set their standards very high indeed, they are proud to own a small group of Outstanding Early Years Schools and Colleges. Specialising in providing personalised Care & Education to children and Adults with a range of physical, learning, neurological, sensory, complex health needs, and cerebral palsy.  The heart of everything they do is to ensure lives are lived as independently as possible with all the help and support needed for an individual’s wellbeing.

As a group they provide a very stimulating and homely environment where children with Special Education Needs (SEN), moderate Learning Disabilities, or social, emotional, and mental Health difficulties can thrive. 

Your Role

As an experienced Children’s Residential Home Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of running the Children’s Home.  You will

• Be responsible for staff recruitment, retention, and their development.
• Referrals, admissions, and care practices.
• Ensure regulatory compliance & to achieve the highest possible Ofsted rating.
• Ensure that home is ran in a child focussed way, at all times.

We are recruiting for a Waking Night Support Worker to join a residential family centre supporting young children and their families.

Location: Blackburn, Lancashire.

Salary: £11.30 per hour (£27,029.60 per annum) + benefits.                       

Job Type: Full-time, permanent. 46-hours per week on rolling rota, 8pm – 8am.

We are recruiting on behalf of a residential family centre providing a safe environment for parents and their children who need additional support. They follow the Every Child Matters ambitions for each child and focus on providing positive outcomes for children and their families.

The service provides accommodation for up to 5 families with children aged under 8. They require assessments to ensure they have the right support and help until they are discharged from the service. Their team of Support Workers provide support, learning, and development as part of parenting assessments.

Criteria

• 2 years’ experience working with families or younger people.
• NVQ Level 3 or above in Children & Young People or Social Worker qualification.
• Experience within residential homes, family services, refuges, drug abuse or substance services would be beneficial.

The Home & Your Role

You will be Registered Manager of a home to 2 children / young people aged 7-17 years with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).  This home has a great team established who are waiting for you to join them!  Your team will consist of a Deputy Manager, Team Leaders & Residential Support Workers who are all working towards a common goal of keeping the young people safe and helping them thrive.  As the Residential Children’s Home Manager, you will bring your passion, positivity and forward-thinking approach to help continue this home’s success.  You will manage budgeting, develop your staff team, contribute to inspection framework and multi-disciplinary working.

Essential Criteria

• Reported success as a Children’s Residential Home Manager
• Experience supporting children and young people with EBD.
• Great understanding of Children’s Home Regulations & Framework
• Minimum Level 3 Health & Social Care Children & Young People (willing to work towards Level 5 if not yet achieved)
• Willing to be part of an on-call rota
