Children's Residential Support Worker

£10.00 - £10.50 per hour + £40 per sleep
 

Job Description

We are recruiting for Children’s Residential Support Workers close to the Salford area of Greater Manchester. This is a full-time, permanent job vacancy.

The role is an 8-minute commute from Salford via the A6/Manchester Road. It may also suit candidates living close to the Swinton, Eccles, Stretford, Prestwich, and surrounding areas of Greater Manchester.

This job would be perfect for any candidate who has experience of working with Children with challenging behaviours or Learning Disabilities, who is looking for a fresh opportunity and to work for a special provider.

The Home

You would be joining a small, 3-bedded children’s home for children living with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This home has a very little staff turnover due to the amazing work they do, but also because of how valued their team are for the work they do. The service works closely with in-house Clinical Psychologists and uses therapeutic parenting programmes to enable every young person to develop their abilities and create a positive future. There is a real warm and homely feel making it a lovely place to work.

Your Role

As their Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the children and ensuring their welfare. You will be a role model and work 1:1 with one of the children. You will assist with their practical and emotional needs, as well as encouraging them to learn so they can have the most positive future possible. You will also need to be energetic and enthusiastic as you will be involved in lots of play with the children, but also taking them out on new adventures and to lots of fun places for them to enjoy. This is more than just a job!

Benefits

  • £10.00 per hour rising to £10.25 per hour after probation. 
  • £10.50 per hour once qualified and after 1-year of service. 
  • £40 per sleep, 4 – 6 sleeps per month.
  • Full-time hours.
  • Set rota system – 4-week rota and planned in for a whole year – so you can plan too!
  • 224 hours annual leave per year (April to April).
  • Access to employee services (debt management, counselling, advice service).
  • Mandatory training and ongoing online training package given upon induction.

About You

So, what are we looking for in you?

  • Experience of working with children in a young person’s setting either residential, school, nursery, careers service or youth service – essential.
  • Level 3 in Residential Childcare or Children & Young People Workforce – desirable but not essential.
  • Positive and bubbly personality and a patient, caring nature – essential.
  • It is essential that you have a driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Children's Residential Team Leader

We are looking to recruit a Full Time, Children’s Residential Team Leader Wigan, Greater Manchester.

You could be joining a dedicated team of people who actually care. This is a larger home within easy reach of entertainment and educational facilities in the centre of Wigan.

Essential Criteria

The Home

You will be joining a stable staff team in a 5-bed home for children and young people, the home has a ‘’Good’’ proven track record.  This mixed gender Residential Children’s Home is for children and young people of either gender, aged between 8 and 18 years who may have Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). As a Residential Team Leader, you will assist the Home Manager to ensure the smooth running of the home, leading shifts and assigning specific tasks to support workers and monitoring their performance.

This is a home for children and young people who have Learning Disabilities and some Mental Health needs, but it is also registered with Ofsted for emotional behavioural difficulties (EBD). There are endless opportunities in this job too.

Hours, Rates & Benefits

  • £24,853 - £25,399 per annum DOE, (£31K including sleeps)
